Accelerating, Achieving, Sustaining Excellence: A (re)Introduction to Baldrige — April 6 Breakfast Webinar

Today’s environment is complex: leaders are navigating new and unique challenges, as most sectors and industries deal with staffing & talent shortages, continued supply chain disruptions, economic constraints, and ever-shifting customer & market expectations. While not a prescriptive “silver bullet,” the now 36-year-old Baldrige Performance Excellence Framework provides leaders of any organization or any community a pathway – and some structure and evidence-based guidance – on priorities for improvement, such that they are focusing precious resources on the “right” things. Baldrige is about improving results.
The Wisconsin Center for Performance Excellence and the Performance Excellence Network are pleased to host an online webinar discussion on Thursday, April 6th: “Accelerating, Achieving and Sustaining Excellence: A (re)introduction to Baldrige” The discussion will feature a panel of leaders from several sectors, each exploring the value of Baldrige in helping their organizations improve outcomes, optimize resources, and better align operations.
The panel incudes:
- Karen Kiel-Rosser, VP and Quality Improvement Officer, Mary Greeley Medical Center (Ames, IA)
- Dean Kramer, EVP of Continuous Improvement, Ortho Molecular Products (OMPI, Stevens Point, WI)
- Paula Meskan, CEO, River’s Edge Hospital & Clinic (St. Peter, MN)
- Craig Smith, Director of Operations, South Dakota Department of Transportation (Sioux Falls, SD)
All four organizations are on the journey to excellence, using Baldrige (and other frameworks, methods & tools) to guide their improvement efforts. All four have received recognition through their Baldrige-based state program (PEN, WCPE, or the Iowa Quality Award program); Mary Greeley has also received the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and is the backbone organization for Ames, Iowa’s Communities of Excellence 2026 effort (a Baldrige-based approach to collaborative leadership & community improvement).
